Am I shocked by this action of George W. Bush? Yes. Am I surprised by this action? No. Was I shocked when Jimmy Carter gave away the Panama Canal? Yes. Was I surprised? At that time in my life I was gullible enough to believe in our elected offcails whether they be Republican or Democrat. At this point in my life I am disillusioned With George W. Bush and the Republican Pary also the Democratic Party as well. Why not go ahead and give away New York Harbor that way Ellis Island would really be open to the huddled masses.

I beg to differ. This is just international business. The ports in questions originally belonged to P and O. I really don't see a problem here. They still will be managed by international customs, police and quarantine agents. Business will go on as usual. I do not beleive this is a security threat. Pretty smart move. P and O were huge. And by the way, UAE cannot afford to drop the ball in relation to terrorism. Why? If they did, nobody would use them. It is that simple. I certainly wouldn't want my goods being moved on a carrier that I knew could get held up in ports an additional couple of weeks because of additional inspections. Could cost me thousands.
