Re: Welcome to the White House

Hi all,

Sorry we did not get this out to you sooner but some of us had to file for extensions on unemployment, while others were in the middle of their paper-work for refinancing their mortgages. Not that we're blaming you for the recession! You can probably guess from the poll numbers that all of us are glad to hear that you are settling in. Hope the clean up goes well and we can get back to work. BTW some of us were noticing the big improvement in gasoline prices and just wanted to say "thanks."

How is that "War on Terror" policy coming together? Great news about getting the shut down of Gitmo in motion. Meanwhile we can't wait to give our sons and daughters in Iraq and Afghanistan the "welcome home!"

Re: Peace at Last

Hey there,

Some of us were wondering where our share of the stimulus was to be found. It's not a big deal but some of us whose homes have lost 25% of their value can't refinance our mortgages at these low rates because we now owe more than the new appraisal. But you know the locals--they keep the taxes where they were three years ago. What is up with that, huh? Anyway, we know those problems are not your fault. We were just wondering where the next 1.6 trillion was going. No biggie. What we're really looking for are those break-throughs internationally that can bring our soldiers home. Keep us posted!

PS, Let Hilary know that the red "restart" button thing isn't that big a deal. Sometimes it really is the thought that counts!

Re: What is Clinton up to these days?

Wow, the news from Afghanistan isn't all that good, is it? So, do you plan to win there or just withdraw or what? Our senior diplomat, the Secretary of State, seems to be keeping a low profile. I don't blame her after messing up that "start" button gimmick with the Russians, but at least we are trying to do something different. Aren't we?

Re: Town Halls

What is this business about national health care and government options and town hall meetings? Haven't you figured out why we voted for you? We want to stop the culture of endless war. This other stuff can get sorted out when we have the economic viability, and we are a LONG way from that. And have you even read our previous memos about the stimulus money? And where is Hilary?

Re: What are doing with our wars?

Are we ending them? Are we ramping up? Apparently there is an election coming up in Afghanistan. Is that why we are holding our breath?

Since when did a responsible foreign policy center on blaming Israel, the only functioning democracy and open society in the region, for everything?

Hey! Have you checked your approval ratings lately? What did you think you were doing? We voted for PEACE, not programs!

Re: Maine's marriage law, New Jersey election

To Whom it May Concern,

We have had the deadliest month ever for American troops in Afghanistan, while its election has made a mockery of democratic institutions. Okay, GOP, here is a carrot for your stick, but don't you get the wrong idea that this means we want torture prisons re-opened.

Re: The world

So Nancy pushes health care "reform" through, Karzai gets a rhetorical slap on the wrist for his management of a failed narco-state, and the war in Pakistan continues to grow.We voted for an end to war, and instead you have declared a NEW war against Fox News.

Is this just a front in the erosion of the first amendment? We have to wonder, after a veiled threat to freedom of speech was advanced in a rider misleadingly called "The Matthew Shepard Law" and which got tacked onto a war-extension spending bill at the end of October.

Get a clue. This is not why the independents brought you to power.
